I thought this message was so important that I decided to narrate it myself
In this newsletter, I will start the way I usually end. Join Medallion XLN’s mission to create the new internet. Since the advent of the internet, I like to think about its movement like a cargo train, where each additional freight car represents improvements to the way we send and receive data. The genesis of the internet was purely intended for transporting text hence, “Hyper Text Transport Protocol” more commonly known as HTTP. As the internet train continued to speed down the tracks, additional freight such as Stylesheets, Images, Video, Live streaming, Blockchain, Extended Reality, and Artificial Intelligence were added to enhance the internet’s user experience. Concerns about privacy, censorship, data ownership, monetization, and interoperability are a result of the incredible pace of innovation experienced in the last 30 years. In this article, I will explain Medallion XLN’s vision to tackle these issues, rethink some concepts, and create a new internet. I strongly believe in validating these ideas. So, if I bring up a concept that you don’t agree with, feel free to let me know. If you find this article informative, please give it a like to help the video reach more people. Let me know your thoughts. Is it time to rethink the internet?
Plan for what is difficult while it is easy, do what is great while it is small. - Sun Tzu
To understand the Medallion XLN mission, it’s important to send a shout-out to our forefathers in Big Tech; Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, and Google. Without them, the internet wouldn’t be as fast and dynamic as it is today. That being said, it’s important to acknowledge some of the side effects that this rapid pace of innovation caused.
Privacy:
A decade ago, no one cared what happened with their data. Data were pieces of text on the internet going back and forth, nothing to see here. As time went by, more information leaked about the advertising model and how these technology companies use our data to construct digital profiles that know all of our likes and dislikes better than we do. The profiles are then used to determine which advertisement has the highest, statistical likelihood of receiving engagement from the user. I’m not knocking the hustle. I always joke that when I have a few extra bucks to spend, I scroll through Instagram, curious to see what they think I would buy. They’re usually right. Don’t get me wrong, I strongly believe that there is a place for digital profiles on the new internet. My problem is the lack of control the end user has for who has access to their data.
Censorship:
Another problem with the current internet is centralization. Regardless of what you think of Conspiracy Theorist Alex Jones, on the same day in 2019; Apple, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter were in a collusion conspiracy to kick him off of their platforms. Talk about irony! Since then, anyone who doesn’t align with certain political ideologies are under the threat of being banned. Doesn’t sound like a free and open internet to me. These huge tech companies are using community guidelines as a way to control what people think and feel. Ideas, by their very nature, need to be wrong at first, then as they proliferate and are challenged they can be largely dismissed, accepted or refined. It’s not the role of big tech to determine which ideas get seen or not.
Ownership, Monetization & Interoperability:
Finally, let’s talk about the concept of ownership, which was a problem that persisted on the internet long before Big tech was even a thing. When any sort of media is uploaded online, there is no way to retain ownership of it. In the beginning, that was cool, because it allowed the media to be freely distributed to a wide audience. In some cases, the creator of the media would be discovered and then be rewarded with new opportunities. I believe that there should be a mechanism built in the media to track ownership of the data, then the creator would have access to those opportunities a lot sooner. As the internet matured and the concept of monetization became more prevalent, different media types were reused without permission. Ownership is now more important than ever. Nobody has the time to search for original creators. That should be a feature built into the core of the internet from the start. After that bug is fixed, the media shouldn’t be re-uploaded ad infinitum, there should be one copy that can be accessed interoperably across many platforms and then monetized when anyone accesses it.

Right now I’m reading the book, “Start With Why” by Simon Sinek, it talks about the Law of Diffusion of Innovation. This means that 2.5% of the population are early innovators. Early innovators are like me, they aggressively pursue new ideas and concepts. Our minds live in the future, while our body traverses this timeline. If that does not describe you, then this is your stop. Come back when we are ready for the Early Adopters, or wait even longer until we reach the majority. In this early phase of Medallion XLN, I’m not looking for big partnerships and multi-million dollar investments. I want buy-in! I want a community focused on building the fundamental structures for the future of communication. I don’t expect everyone who watches this video or reads this article to get it. I don’t, but I know that You get it. I know that because you and I share the same spirit. We share the same quest for a future that is free from control and manipulation. A future where our creations are instantly monetized. We have the right to privacy, to disappear, to own our data, and to express ourselves without fear of being censored or demonetized. One of the quotes that set my spirit on fire was during the space race. Former President John F. Kennedy said, “We choose to go to the moon, not because it’s easy, but because it’s hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills”. I strongly believe that Medallion XLN will build the decentralized future. Our vision is more than securing digital rights for everyone but optimizing global connectivity. I want your confidence! At this time in our growth, we are ready for angel investors, with that money we will hire developers for Blockchain, Extended Reality, multi-modal Artificial Intelligence, web and mobile apps. We also plan to have an office in downtown Walnut Creek, CA. Just as Microsoft invested in Open AI, we need an angel to invest in Medallion XLN. We need money, so give it to us. I’m pretty sure that’s how it works. Together we will create the new internet. Become part of the Medallion XLN community and reach out to admin@medallionxln.io, let’s rethink the internet! This is Dwayne, CEO of Medallion XLN, we are the future of communication. Join Medallion XLN’s mission to create the new internet. Extend Reality, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and decentralization will reclaim our digital independence. See you in future newsletters.
