From elementary schools to college campuses, classrooms have been, and continue to be, the place where brilliant minds are formed. Students have so many chances to shine. From math, sciences, history, visual arts, performing arts, literature, technology and so many more. While some students excel in one subject, they may struggle in others. So if you’re great in English, but suck at math, oh well. You better get a tutor. Or, “Just pay attention in class and stop talking so much! Because if you bring home another report card like this one, you won’t be able to sit down for a week! Try me if you want to!” Sorry, I had a very traumatic flashback.
Knowledge is Power!
The pressure of doing well in school was and is real. And the only way to get a great report card is through passing your tests and exams. So, if studying hard and taking copious notes only keeps you just above a failing grade, what can you do? Well, you could do the same thing your slacker classmate does. Cheat. And no, I don’t condone or advocate cheating in any form or fashion. To cheat is defined as acting dishonestly or unfairly to gain an advantage. And it’s probably been going on as long as there’s been schools. From looking at your classmates' answers when the teacher wasn’t looking, to being given the answers from a friend in the class before yours to emailing answers during the test, to paying someone to write your term paper. Oh yes, it’s a tale as old as time. And even though the consequences of being caught can be catastrophic to your academic future. Many continue to cheat.
