"Yuusuke... Dammit Yuusuke, listen to me! Everyone has to fight with time to find their place before their inevitable death. Toguro... he ran away from that fight. Don't you ever do the same. No human is ever a one man show. Every decision that you make will affect the countless people who care about you. Do you understand? You can't be a cocky kid anymore." - Genkai, Yu Yu Hakusho
The Tournament Of Champions article introduced our massive global audience to the anime tournament arc. Most of your favorite Shounen anime have a tournament arc; Dragon Ball series, Demon Slayer, Hunter X Hunter, Naruto, Rurouni Kenshin, Bleach, and my favorite tournament arc of all time, seasons 2 & 3 of Yu Yu Hakusho. Fans of the series will remember the chant the crowd of demons made as Team Urameshi ascended through the tournament ranks, “KILL YUSUKE! KILL YUSUKE!! KILL YUSUKE!!!” Making their way to the final fight with Team Toguro. In my quest to understand the NFT market on a deeper level, I have reached out to a few projects and requested to interview them to find out how they view the current state of the market. Up first, is Nega NFT | Fatale Tournament, a project built on the WAX blockchain. Nega NFT’s creator says, WAX was chosen as the blockchain because of how easy it is to code trading cards.

The Nega NFT Fatale Tournament is originally designed as battle girls who fight each other trading card collection. The girls are drawn in a curvy, voluptuous and, cartoony manner. The collection can be viewed on AtomicHub, WAX’s version of Open sea. The project has sold about 200 packs for about $218. The collection has about 12 characters with multiple outfit variations presented as trading cards. Each trading card has the powers and attributes presented on the back of the card as symbols. The utility of this project is a trading card pack that you open up and find cool artwork. This project has 3-5 dedicated buyers that consistently support it. Nega NFT has 675 followers on Twitter, which is their primary social media. Give them a follow. The project releases new characters in waves. Wave 3 is the latest iteration of the project which sold 60 packs & sold out of promotional holiday cards. The roadmap for this project includes 8 more girls released throughout the year. Plans for the future include a world-building universe that includes a P2P fighting game.

Ethereum is usually the chosen platform to launch NFT projects. For context reasons, I think it’s important to explore the WAX blockchain vs Ethereum. WAX is a third-generation blockchain that focuses exclusively on NFTs. WAX processes 50 million transactions per day. The entire WAX blockchain is pretty much OpenSea as a blockchain. WAX is backward compatible with EOS, which uses Delegated Proof Of Stake. I remember when EOS was supposed to be an Ethereum killer, but has been on its deathbed for the last few years. Transactions on WAX are fast with no fees. You would think that not paying any fees on NFT transactions would be welcomed, but projects such as Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) demonstrate that the more expensive an NFT is, the more desirable it is to own. The NFT market is not booming despite it being expensive, but because it is expensive. The reason Nega NFT isn’t selling more is that speculators don’t see an opportunity to make 10x on their money. Based on the goals of the project, keeping the project cheap could be to its benefit and not a detriment. WAX is designed specifically for developers who want to integrate their NFTs into video games and not have their users pay a ton of money every time it gets accessed. While Ethereum seems to be the place where speculators can flip NFT’s at a ridiculous profit. Each ecosystem has its own use-case, depending on the developer’s goals. If the goal is to fund-raise, use Ethereum. If the goal is to build scalable games at the lowest cost possible, use WAX. A fun fact that I discovered about WAX while researching this article is that their founder was one of the first investors in PayPal. I wonder if he would let me interview him?
Nega NFT’s long-term goals to build a world-building universe and a P2P Fighting game can be accomplished with the Lootverse library. The artwork reminds me alot of the Dead Or Alive fighting game series, with their collection of voluptuous women. I am interviewing a few projects building on the Lootverse. There are still many unanswered questions that I am researching; such as does the Lootverse work cross-chain? I will be breaking down their documentation in a future article. Either way, the Lootverse is a viable way for Nega NFT to achieve its long-term goals. The Nega NFT project could program the moves and attributes of each fighter, then allow users to import those characters into different games such as a hack & slash RPG game.
I am really surprised how fast our newsletter is growing. We are conducting interviews with some top tier names in the crypto industry. Be on the lookout for interviews with projects building on Loot verse. The largest coin aggregator in the world is allowing us to interview them. If you follow us on Twitter, then you already know that we keep asking Elon Musk for an interview.
